LABEL RELEASES:

R&M 30 Perispirit + Brendan Murray : Collaboration - c30
Moving forwards with the exoskeleton imagery, this tape finds both parties in rare form. The a side is a studio/mail collaboration between the artist's, resulting in a rising, enveloping drone. The B side is a live improvisation with no post processing or editing - less melodic than the a side, what where left with is a huge cloud of low end sub frequency rattle with piecing high end slowing creeping in and out of the mix. Two takes on long form sound putting drone under the microscope for its ultimate dissection. Co-released with Semata Productions.

R&M 31 Perispirit / Virile Games : Split - c20
Perispirit side is our best track yet in my opinion and was the second song we played on the recent “Towards Away Tour Male Understanding” tour. Endless blue balls and confusion. Right when you think we’ve locked into something we take you somewhere wrong. The stereo field as destructive weapon. Lo-Fi sounds edited with completely minute computer precision. Virile Games is a new project from member of Virgin Springs and KP. Highly unique and curious clatter and distortion. Macro meets Robert Ashley. The Wolfman lives in Pennsylvania but not really. Junk metal abuse and distortion. Analogue tape destruction. Using noise as a compositional tool doesn’t mean the sounds need to lose their raw integrity.

R&M 32: Vile Bodies : Demo - c15
First release from this Boston Hard Core project. The new project from Conversions members featuring the core instrumental lineup but male vocals instead of female. Expertly composed and precise with great guitar and bass riffs, angry vocals, and machine gun drumming. High quality recording and musicianship but without the sacrifice of heart. Guitar riffs reminiscent of Ginn but minus the noodling. Transitions that make sense and flow. Incorporating the best elements of the old without being caught in the past.

R&M 33: Ricardo Donoso : Linear Transformation Matrices - c30
The most definitive solo statement from this Perispirit and Ehnahre member. Dirty oscillator destruction and blown out synth edited in that meticulous Perispirit style. A recording of contrast. Heavy use of dynamics. The loud and the soft. The pretty and the ugly. Noise and tonality. These tracks take you different places. Not a recording where you jump ahead a minute and the track sounds exactly the same as it did before. Sometimes you’re allowed to relax but only briefly. It’s a busy world. No time for burnouts. View your reality through the eyes of Mr. Brazil.

R&M 34: Howard Stelzer : Apricot War Buffer Zone - c30
New tape composition from the man, the myth, and the legend. He lives inside the static. Listen carefully and you’ll always discover it all anew or lay back and get showered in the hiss. A nice companion to “Go On,” and “Bond Inlets.” The fans know what they’re in for.

R&M 35: Eagle's Breast : Assault and Flattery - c120
KFW description:
impressively lengthy, patience-trying set of prepared guitar extrapolations from luther “luke” moldof - an attempted “earth history” recorded “live” to tape in seemingly single-take style, expanding on themes laid out by descartes, yet rooted in a kind of ecclesiastic rug-burn that’s all luke ...

R&M 10: Ahlzagailzehguh - Misinterpreted Injury, 2x7" (transparent red+yellow vinyl)
By now Ahlzagailzehguh has become established as one of the current leaders of harsh/cut-up noise. Misinterpreted Injury, his first release on the 7’’ format deals with the trauma associated with the loss of a kidney at the age of 9. It consists of four meticulous side long tracks that display complete control of left-right speaker counterpoint, frequency manipulation, and overall compositional form. This is not your typical harsh noise study, but a true masterwork.

Klinikal Skum - Chosen Powerless CD on Expectorant Rabid paranoia placed under the restraint of heavy medication. The withdrawn sounds of a ruined mind, slowly marching towards the imminent end. Is the objective to reintegrate or assimilate? Included here are five treatments involving a decisive pathology of analogue synthesizer and corroded electronic devices, simultaneously subdued and unsettling in their inflicted balance of tone and texture. Patient development leads to gradual debilitation, providing deep results. With a heavy nod to the Slaughter Productions approach to morbid electronics, this is diseased death industrial from Ryan Oppermann (REDROT, NEÜNTOTER DER PLAGE, POST-MORTEM JUNKIE, ETC). - Label Description

Kevin Drumm - Impish Tyrant CD on Dagda Hammer
Reissue of Spite tape from 2004. Brutal. For fans of the harsh side of Drumm's output.

Geoff Mullen - A Rip in the Fabric 7'' on Rare Youth

Stillbirth / Prurient - The Mirror of Purification 7" split on Semanta Productions
The first in a new series of split vinyl releases on Semata, we are proud to present The Mirror of Purification. Those expecting brutal no-future power electronics will not find it here; instead, you'll find a work that will non doubtingly confound and bewilder - we wouldn't want it any other way. Both sides thematically linked from months of communication, what we have here are two artists stepping out of their comfort zones.
The first vinyl release for Stillbirth (Perispirit, ex-Craniopagus) this material is the unfolding progression from the last Hospital and Jugular Forest tapes. Complex guitar work, tape manipulation, shortwave radios and clever synth leads give 'The View Untangled' an almost musique concrete feel at times - melodies occasionally piercing through the static and blown out amplifier fog. A highly unique voice and one to watch out for.
Prurient's 'Where Secrets are Guarded' brings forth new techniques in the Prurient sound. Melodic vocals mix in with pitch shifted dialogue, spiraling synth lines and what sounds like small metal objects being joggled about or computer keyboards being typed on frenetically. Harmonic shapes take form within the electro-acoustic mist underlining this exceptional text. A work that deems repeat listening.
Two innovative artists at the top of their game, paving the way - there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Ehnahre - Pipeline tape on Semata Productions
Initially released as an edition of 50 to coincide with Ehnahre's European tour last April, here we have the second pressing now in an edition of 175 pro dubbed cassettes with new artwork available to those who didn't catch The Man Closing up tour in Europe & the UK.
Pipeline is a live recording of Part II, Part III and Part V off the debut release The Man Closing Up (Sound Devastation) from a radio station gig in 2008. The recording finds the band in all its naked glory - no strings, brass or electronics, Pipeline exposes the band at its most raw and brutal.
Experimental combinatorial twelve tone black metal with instances of doom and death metal from these ex members of Kayo Dot. The master of 20th century music, Arnold Schoenberg, declared the "liberation of the dissonance" to be essential for the progress of music as an art form. Ehnahre wholly embraces that philosophy, and it consummately informs their music. Dodecaphony of end times.
"There are no words to explain what this band does. They really don't give you anything to latch on to. No melodies, no riffs, just oppressive sound. It beats you down until you find yourself curled up in the corner, gently weeping."

Ricardo Donoso - Zerovinteum 7" on Semata Productions.
More known for his percussion work in avant-metal unit Ehnahre, his deconstructed approach to the drums in The Epicureans and his electronic work in noise/drone champions Perispirit, Zerovinteum is Ricardo Donoso's debut solo release.
An homage to The Marvelous City and its duplicity, the music, although bright eyed and hopeful simultaneously treads with a sinister undercurrent of desolation and longing.
The title track was generated primarily with an electric guitar, along with some tapes, contact mics and analog synths. Hot and sunny tonal passages infiltrate the murk of tape hiss and ambiguous guitar resonance only to get lost again in the bleak New England winter - the sexuality of Carnaval.
The B side 'Plate Fourteen', is an experiment in minimalism - amplified cymbals shift to form micro-tonal structures of a doom laced angelic drone - the yearning for home.
